sewage smell flimsy soap
The bathroom had a noticeable sewage smell. This odor was present upon entry. the shower lacked proper shelving. Items easily fell because of the flimsy ikea soap holder. towels and linens were not changed daily unless specifically requested. the room was not soundproof. Noises from adjacent rooms were often audible.

i found a very convenient location by the river. many restaurants were right next to the hotel. the staff was friendly and helpful (they always greeted me with a smile!).

Excellent Stay in Historic District
helpful staff clean room great breakfast
I found the hotel staff helpful, especially with directions to nearby attractions. My room was kept clean daily, a detail I definitely appreciated. The breakfast was great (especially the pancakes!). I also liked the hotel's proximity to local eateries and public transportation.
The bathroom lacked sufficient shelving, made organizing toiletries a bit inconvenient.

alfama stay, a good experience
tourist attractions comfortable stay
the staff were so cute and spoke english well (they really go the extra mile). i was able to easily reach all the tourist attractions on foot from here. the room was very clean and had everything i needed for a comfortable stay.
The bathroom was a bit small and dark. I missed having a magnifying mirror.

the hotel is in a fabulous location right in the alfama district. it is just a couple of minutes walk from a metro station and the riverfront. numerous restaurants are nearby too.

the reception staff speaks good english and they are very helpful. anything you need, they will kindly help with. the hotel staff go out of their way to.
